As long as you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, aged 18 or above, you can sponsor your relatives to immigrate to Canada through the family category. Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Program (PGP) The steps to apply to sponsor your parents and grandparents are a bit different for the 2021 process. IRCC announced to invite people from the re-maining pool of potential sponsors who submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020. Between September 23 and October 4, 2021, IRCC invited po-tential sponsors to apply. They have sent enough invitations to reach the goal of accepting 30,000 complete applications. Sponsors have 60 days from the date of their invitation to submit their applications to IRCC. IRCC won’t open a new interest to sponsor form in 2021. And the Gov-ernment of Canada has not yet provided details on how the 2022 PGP pro-cess may function. Eligible parents and grandparents can visit family in Canada for up to two years without the need to renew their status. It manages applications for three economic immigration programs: •Federal Skilled Worker Class - for skilled workers with foreign work experience •Federal Skilled Trades Class - for skilled workers based on being qualified in a skilled trade •Canadian Experience Class - for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience, and Provinces and territories can also recruit candidates from the Express Entry pool through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to meet local labour market needs. Express Entry is an online immigration application system. Potential candidates make an expression of interest (EOI) in coming to Canada by creating an Express Entry profile and providing information about their skills, work experience, language ability, education, and other personal information. If you're eligible, you'll be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system. Your score is based on the information in your profile. Candidates with the highest scores in the pool will receive "invitations to apply" (ITA). You'll have 60 days to submit your application for permanent residence.
