The long-time favourite sweetheart and V-neck shape cut is also out, and in come square necklines, deep scoop, off-the-shoulder and strapless designs. Meanwhile, the classic drapery ruched design for evening gowns for mothers and bridesmaids is back. And for those who want to show their more unique personality, the bustier looks are becoming popular too. “There are many pleasant surprises in wedding dress design,” Lau said. “I have seen 3D floral appliques, dramatic ruffles and uniquely tied bows that are added fixtures to the gown. Instead of classic gloves, there are puffed sleeves that are quite pretty and youthful-looking. And I definitely saw a lot of high slits, bringing in much sexy charm. Lau offered one final piece of advice for the fashionable bride-tobe:“Listen to the professionals, but at the same time, trust your own instinct. Remember, you should have the final say.
